Abstract

Česlovas Juršėnas, the author of the memoirs, “The Mosaic of a Not Boring Life” (2023), portrays himself and his life in a rather vivid and widely described manner. In chapters, which function as separate parts in the book, the reader is introduced to the most memorable events of author’s life, the twists and turns of his career, the most interesting or most important achievements, his main interests or hobbies, and aspects of his worldview. However, due to the form and structure of the book, Juršėnas often presents the events or describes people in superficial manner. The memoirs lack a broader context or a more detailed description and, therefore, fail to deepen our knowledge of the events and persons of the recent past.
